✈️ MACC Takes Flight with New Aviation Commercial Pilot Program

MACC and the City of Columbia celebrated the ribbon cutting for MACC’s new Aviation Commercial Pilot Training Center at the former Columbia Regional Airport terminal—marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the space and for aviation education in our region.

What was once a vacant terminal is now a launchpad for the next generation of commercial pilots. The inaugural class of 16 students will begin training this fall, combining college coursework with hands-on flight training through MACC’s partnership with ATD Flight Systems.

This celebration represents so much more than a new program. It’s a strong partnership between MACC and the City of Columbia, a renewed purpose for a familiar community space, and a new pathway for students pursuing careers in aviation. 🚀✈️

We’re proud to see this vision take flight—and even more excited to see where our students go from here!

Need to make a change to your class schedule? Students may request schedule changes on Thursday August 20, during the following times:

🎓 Seniors: 8:30–10:00 a.m.
🎓 Juniors: 10:00–11:30 a.m.
🎓 Sophomores:12:30–2:00 p.m.

Parents are welcome to attend to:

✅ Receive assistance with online registration
✅ Turn in required paperwork
