More time isn't always the answer.

Students need intervention that is:
✔ Structured
✔ Explicit
✔ Systematic
✔ Diagnostic
✔ Responsive

When intervention is effective, students should be making measurable progress. If progress isn't happening, it's time to examine the instruction—not simply add more minutes.

Tic-Tac-Toe activities provide many educational benefits beyond being a simple, fun game. Depending on how it is used, it can support academic, social, and cognitive development.

Cognitive Benefits: Strategic Planning – *Encourages planning several steps in advance.

*Decision-Making – Students evaluate options and make choices independently.

*Attention and Focus – Requires concentration and sustained engagement.

Academic Benefits: When adapted for instruction, Tic-Tac-Toe can reinforce: Reading vocabulary, Sight words and etc.

For example, students may solve a math problem or read a word correctly before placing an X or O.

Tic-Tac-Toe can also offer and develop Social-Emotional benefits and benefits for Neurodiverse Learners such as:

*Visual scanning skills
* Working memory
* Executive functioning
* Flexible thinking
* Communication and social interaction
