The annual Fayette County Farm-City Contests are back! Students have the opportunity to share their creativity and celebrate the connection between farms and communities through art, writing, and video. Poster Contest entries are open to students in grades K-6, while Essay and Video Contests are available for students in grades 7-12. Contest guidelines and entry information are available through the Fayette County Extension Office. Message us or call the office if you'd like a copy. Contest entries are due by November 5, 2026.

Grab your passports—our adventure is about to begin! 🛂

Our next Homeschool 4-H Club meeting will be:

🇲🇽 Our first destination: MEXICO!

This year, our Homeschool Club is traveling Around the World with 4-H! At each meeting, we’ll “visit” a different country and learn about its culture, traditions, food, agriculture, and more through fun, hands-on activities.

🛂 Each student will receive their own 4-H Passport to use throughout the year. At every stop on our journey, they’ll receive a new stamp in their passport!

🌮 We’ll also be sampling food during our visit to Mexico. Parents, please let me know before the meeting if your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

We can’t wait to start our adventure together!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dependable individual who is ready to serve alongside Fayette County 4-H and help us continue expanding opportunities for youth throughout our county.

As an AmeriCorps member with Fayette County 4-H, you’ll have the opportunity to:

🏫 Assist with school and community-based programming

So excited to attend the Annual Alabama 4-H State Meeting! It’s always a great opportunity to connect, learn, share ideas, and spend time with some of the very best 4-H professionals from across our state.

I’m especially thankful for our Northwest Alabama 4-H team and the friendships and partnerships we share with our neighboring counties. From collaborating on programs to cheering each other on, we truly are better when we work together! 💚

🐔🍀 STATE POULTRY JUDGING SUCCESS! 🍀🐔

We are so proud of Fayette County 4-H’ers Elaina Agoston and Ella Grace Thompson, along with their Lamar County 4-H partner, Elizabeth Knight, for placing 2nd Overall at the State 4-H Poultry Judging Competition yesterday! 🥈👏

Their team, The 3 Chickadees, did an outstanding job representing our counties and showing off all the hard work and knowledge they’ve gained! 🐥💚

A special THANK YOU to Mrs. Amanda Knight for coaching and preparing these young ladies, and to my fellow 4-H agents, Sierra Barder and Chelsey Gann, for working together to make this opportunity possible.

One of the best parts of 4-H is that it brings people together! Fayette County 4-H has truly enjoyed partnering with our neighboring counties and watching these 4-H’ers learn, grow, compete, and succeed together.

Congratulations, 3 Chickadees! We are SO proud of you! 🥈🐔🍀💚
