Elementary Grandparents Event: This year's GRAND EVENT during book fair week will be an after school event. Students are welcome to bring their grandparents to participate in activities, visit the fair, and have dinner. If they do not have a grandparent available to attend, they are welcome to come with another "grand" person in their life. We need families signed up by SEPTEMBER 3, 2026 to give a food count to our awesome donors providing dinner. What an incredible first day of school!

From the second the doors opened, our buildings were filled with excitement, energy, collaboration, and plenty of Dragon pride! It was a great reminder that Mid-Buchanan is Built on Commitment—a commitment to our students, to one another, and to making this school year the very best it can be.

Our junior high and high school students kicked off the year with fun walk-up song introductions to their teachers. Our fifth graders spent time collaborating and discussing how they want their peers and teachers to treat one another, helping set the tone for a positive and respectful school year. Meanwhile, our newest Dragons in kindergarten received tours of the building as they began their exciting journey at Mid-Buchanan!

Across the district, students were reconnecting with friends, meeting new teachers, learning new routines, and beginning another year filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.

The first day was a Dragon success, and we can’t wait to see all the great things ahead!

Welcome to all Dragon Families! A few reminders about school times and Parent Pick Up and Drop Off!

School begins at 7:50. Doors open at 7:30 for the high school out front (Door 1) and out back for preschool through sixth grade (Door 14) from their car. Anyone utilizing ATHENA will use Door 2 (Elementary Main Doors) anytime between 6:30-7:30. Breakfast begins at 7:30 am. Anyone bringing a student AFTER 7:50 will need to sign their student in at their designated office and the student will receive a tardy slip.

Dismissal on August 24 is at 12:00 pm for all grades, preschool through twelfth grade, as well as any other half days on our calendar. On full school days, dismissal is 3:05 for grades kindergarten through twelve, and 2:30 for preschool.

As a reminder for returning families or information for new families, please see our Parent Pick Drop Off/Pick Up Line pictures in this post. Please remember to remain in your car in both the morning and afternoon, and staff will assist in getting students in and out of your vehicles, as needed. Please pull forward for any additional needs with your child, to help keep the line moving for all.

The Football Jamboree is tonight at 6:00pm at Mid-Buchanan! Admission will be $5/adults and $3/students. Come cheer on the Dragons!

If you have purchased an athletic pass you will gain entry. We will have a table set up tonight to hand out athletic passes. If you are not able to make it tonight we will send it home with your student on Monday or you can pick it them up from the HS office.

🌱 **Honoring Our Roots, Shaping Our Future!** 🌱

Today, the Mid-Buchanan Elementary staff had the opportunity to step outside the building and take a meaningful field trip to learn more about the ROOTS and rich history of the Mid-Buchanan RV School District.

In partnership with the Mid-Buchanan Alumni Committee, our staff explored the people, traditions, stories, and milestones that helped shape the district we are proud to be part of today. ❤️💚

Understanding where we came from helps us appreciate where we are—and inspires us as we continue growing, learning, and cultivating success for the next generation of Dragons! 🐉‍🔥

A special thank you Ginny Crouse and Cindy Rumpf of the Mid-Buchanan Alumni Committee for sharing your knowledge, memories, and passion for preserving our school’s history. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from those who came before us and are excited to carry that legacy forward.
