I've found that exponent properties are often either forgotten by students, or more commonly, they remember them but don't know why they work. Here is a quick summary of the four "big" exponent rules with an example for each. Maybe it'll help your kid.

Woodcreek Math Workshop is officially hitting the road! 🚗📚✨

We’re excited to announce that our FIRST vendor event is happening this weekend at the Woodcreek HOA Spring Fling! Come stop by, say hello, and check out what we’ve been working on.

🗓 Saturday, May 9
⏰ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Front Clubhouse at Woodcreek

And honestly, since we will already be there — if your student is struggling with math, bring questions! I’m happy to help out for free while we’re there. Homework help, SAT math, algebra panic, “I forgot how fractions work” emergencies… all welcome. 😄

With finals right around the corner, it’s a good chance to get a little extra help, review tricky concepts, or just survive the final stretch of the school year.

We’re looking forward to meeting neighbors, families, and everyone coming out for the big event. Huge thanks to the HOA for having us — hopefully this is just the beginning of many more road trips for WMW!

Lately WMW has grown a small shelf of math books in the studio.

Not textbooks—more the kind of writing that explores how people think about math: ideas, patterns, creativity, and the strange way numbers show up in our life and the world.

An open invitation to think just a bit deeper than usual.
