How blessed am I to be these singers’ voice teacher 🥹

It’s taken me a few days to recover and fully take in what a blessing this past Sunday’s recitals were. I feel so lucky to know each singer individually and to witness the unique “superpowers” you each bring into the voice studio. I love discovering where you shine most and getting to help share that with others.

I hope you continue embracing your voices and carrying your love for music everywhere you go. 🎶

Congratulations to studio member Sarah Rodriguez for advancing to the NATIONAL round of the NATS competition! HUGE congratulations to Alyssa Klecha for making it to the top 15 IN THE NATION for the upper classmen contemporary music category!! This girl has worked HARD to the very end!!! Incredible honor to make it this far in one of the most competitive years yet for NATS.

"Selected from nearly 1,200 qualifying student-singers submitting over 3,700 video auditions in the preliminary auditions, the semifinalists include students of NATS members from 13 American regions, the Canadian region as well as an International Region, which spans nine chapters across four continents. These student singers will continue the exciting audition process in-person from July 3 to 5 at San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas."

I want to start by saying congratulations to all of my students who participated in Texoma NATS this year. Rehearsing and recording videos week after week is both physically and emotionally demanding, and I am so proud of each and every one of you.

To be named a semi-finalist, singers must be ranked in the “Mastering” level of vocal proficiency across five categories, earning an average score of at least 90% from three first-round judges. From there, singers are narrowed down to the top five finalists, followed by final rankings. These top five singers qualify to audition for the national round of NATS, which will take place in San Antonio this July.

I am incredibly proud of all of you for your hard work and growth. No matter the results, take pride in the time and dedication you’ve invested in your craft. You are growing not only as singers, but as performers and artists—and that is something worth celebrating.

Dearest Studio Family,

Our dear Maddie Darwin’s mother was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in October, and it has since progressed to stage 4. I would love if we could please keep the Darwin family in your thoughts and prayers, lifting them up for strength, comfort, and healing as Mrs. Darwin continues in and out of the hospital undergoing chemotherapy.
