🎤 Our Students Have a Voice — and We’re Listening!
Last week, Dr. Jones had the opportunity to meet with student panels at the elementary, middle, and high school levels to hear directly from our Eagles about their school experiences.
There was plenty of positive feedback, along with thoughtful ideas about how we can continue to grow. Here are a few highlights:
🦅 At PECHS: Students shared that they are enjoying hands-on learning, particularly in Auto Tech, Anatomy, English, and SVCC dual enrollment courses. They also noted improvements in restroom behavior and va**ng, growing school spirit, and the success of our athletic teams. Students also shared ideas about increasing access to athletic events and expanding CTE and dual enrollment opportunities.
🦅 At PECMS: Students talked about enjoying math, science, English, history, and electives like Career Class, Art, and PE. They asked for more hands-on activities, less screen time, more themed days, and additional field trip opportunities.
🦅 At PECES: Our youngest Eagles described their school as “awesome,” “amazing,” and “good!” They talked about teachers making learning fun, spending time outside, being with friends, and being proud of what they are learning. And, of course, they had plenty of ideas for field trips! 🦁
🍎 School Nutrition: Students across all three levels also shared their favorite meals and provided honest feedback and suggestions about breakfast options, food freshness, gluten-free choices, and line speed.
A special shout-out to PECHS for the noticeable improvement in discipline numbers compared to this time last year! 👏
The biggest takeaway? Our students have a voice, and we need to hear it.
Thank you to our students for being honest, thoughtful, and willing to share their ideas — and to our staff for creating environments where students feel comfortable speaking up.
