Digging In - With Good Reason When we dig underground, we get a chance to dig deeper into history. From Spanish conquistadors to bird bone flutes, today we’re channeling our inner Indiana Jones for an archeological adventure.

Thanks so much to Sociology alumni Robby Newman ('12), a Roanoke City police officer and Brooke Rieley Newman ('12), a school social worker in Roanoke, for sharing their knowledge and experience with students in Dr. Bidwell's Sociology of Family Violence class. These two alumni embody what it means to be Citizen Leaders.

What an amazing job students did presenting their work collaborative work on Facilitating Parental Engagement today! If you want hands-on learning, practical experience, and engaging with community partners, Sociology classes at Longwood are the place to be.

Congratulations to all the Anthropology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice Studies students who earned Dean's and President's list recognition!

Congratulations to Zach Kim who accepted a full-time position with Intrado Life & Safety as an Associate Telecommunicator in Longmont, CO. He will be working in the Emergency Call Relay Center (ECRC) answering misrouted 911 calls from various phone carriers throughout the United States and the US Territories.

Congratulations class of 2022! The faculty and staff of the Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice Studies department are very proud of the work you've done to get to this point. We look forward to following your bright futures and know that you are always welcome back to visit anytime! We will miss you.
