My Betopper LF350 Review

Review of the NEW Betopper LF350 Matrix Strobe Effect Moving Head Light = Dynamic, Flexible, Bright and built ready to enhance any show!!

I've had the pleasure of reviewing the newly released Betopper LF350 Matrix Strobe Effect Moving Head Light. I own and have recommended Betopper lights for our local community theatre, the university I teach at, during workshops on color theory and lighting that I give, and the students I teach. They are solid quality and at a price you can't beat!

On to the LF350 = At first glance, one might wonder - what can I use a strobe moving light for? As a professional lighting designer and Professor of Theatre/ Resident Scenic & Lighting Designer, I see the LF350 as an amazingly flexible light with endless possibilities. Unboxing the fixture was easy and it is not too heavy at all. It is solidly built, complete with a powercon to edison plug (in the USA), a dmx cable, brackets for attaching clamps to mount it to a batten or truss, and a comprehensive manual. Since most of what I do is DMX controlled, I'll start there. As with most pixel based LED fixtures (my first ever, back in 2011 was the Chauvet Color Palette), you need to ask yourself how much control do I want? The LF350 has 17, 38, or 73 channel (on the website), but according to the manual = a whopping 381 channel/ address mode!!! Now that is some lighting control! This light is BRIGHT!!!

For stage productions, I think the flexibility it offers allows for lots of creativity in designing. I put the light on its side and let it run in auto just to see what might be possible and man...it has quite the beam spread as well.

In addition to the DMX control mode, it also allows you to create 10 scenes - adjusting the tilt, the effects, the Red, Blue, Green, and White LEDs, and more. This allows it to be used in events like weddings, parties, DJing, trade shows, etc. to create a dynamic and exciting display. It’s easy to set up and save scenes.

I’m excited to use this light on my next theatrical production!!
