We believe children learn through play.

Play is a source of fun and pleasure, a way of practicing and perfecting skills and gives children a chance to use their imagination in creative and dramatic play.

Using cut-up noodles with toothpicks is an excellent, hands-on STEM activity (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) that develops fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and problem-solving.The key developmental skills children get out of this activity include:

Fine Motor Skills & Coordination: Poking toothpicks into soft materials requires a strong pincer grasp and precision. It forces children to focus on their hand-eye coordination and use just the right amount of force so the toothpick doesn't bend or break.

Engineering & Architecture: As children connect the noodles and toothpicks, they act as structural engineers. They learn about physics, gravity, and how to distribute weight so that their towers or bridges don't collapse. They discover through trial and error which shapes (like triangles) are the most stable.

Math & Geometry: By building structures, kids are introduced to basic geometry by exploring 2D and 3D shapes, edges, angles, and vertices. They can also practice early math skills by counting the pieces used or measuring how tall/short their structures are.Creative

Expression & Imagination: The open-ended nature of loose parts allows children to build anything they can imagine, such as animals, houses, spaceships, or completely abstract sculptures.

Perseverance & Focus: Structures will inevitably fall down or droop. Rebuilding requires patience, concentration, and learning from mistakes

Bubble, Bubble......FOAM!!!Using a mixer to make bubble bubbles is an excellent sensory and practical life activity. Children primarily gain fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination through the wrist rotation and mixing motions.Beyond basic motor control, this hands-on activity builds several other key developmental areas:

Cause and Effect: Children physically see how their arm movements (turning, mixing) directly create the bubble foam.

Math & Measuring: Measuring and pouring the water and soap introduces concepts of volume and measurement.

Scientific Discovery: They explore states of matter (liquids and gases) and basic physics like surface tension.

Concentration: The repetitive, engaging motion encourages sustained attention as they work to create more foam.

Wanted to share this with everybody anyone planning on doing this where our girls could carpool together

Blowing bubbles is a powerful play activity that builds essential skills. It strengthens oral motor control (lip rounding and breath support) needed for speech, develops fine motor coordination (pinching wands and dipping), and improves visual tracking as kids follow floating bubbles with their eyes
