Roots + Ladders by SIGHT

Once at preschool, your child may have a good grasp on their hand-eye coordination. By now they have developed spacial awareness that coordinates with their hand-eye abilities to position small objects and better control eating utensils.

Using fun and discovery, the Roots+Ladders program focuses on skill areas that prepare your child for preschool and beyond. FINE MOTOR SKILLS enhance grasp and manipulation to get little hands ready to write.

Playfully designed by experts in health and early childhood development, our curriculum allows children to explore with curiosity, problem solve and develop their budding self-reliance

Supporting your 2-3 year old child (our "Soar" group): Engage in conversations. Acknowledge his/her feelings. Encourage pretend play and get involved. Spend time with other children.

Support your 18-24 month old: Give her objects and toys that lend themselves to imaginative play, and join in the play together. Turn a walk into an adventure. Play and exploration make new ideas and concepts stick.

This week's classes focus on Proprioception. Proprioception works through a coordinated system of receptors in our skin, muscles, and joints, all of which are connected through the nervous system to our brains. Proprioception allows us to know where our body is in space and how it is moving.

Support your 12-18-month-old (our "Fly" group): Encourage him to make words, sounds and gestures to communicate. Read to help her learn new words. Offer toys that represent objects in the toddler's world (kitchen, store items) and play together.
