✨ In this week’s Advocate Leader Spotlight, we’re highlighting Daniel Fear, Advocacy Chair and Incoming Executive Director of the New Mexico Music Educators Association!

As a member of the Advocacy Leadership Force (ALF) for the past three years, Daniel has embraced a collaborative approach to advocacy, focusing on bringing educators together, elevating shared ideas, and strengthening collective efforts across New Mexico.

He has helped spark meaningful conversations statewide, launched advocacy webinars, and played a key role in bringing NMMEA’s first-ever Roundhouse Day to life. This milestone event, held earlier this year, brought advocates and student performers to the state capitol in Santa Fe to showcase the impact of music education in schools.

Through partnerships with local educators during a district restructuring, Daniel also helped expand access to beginning band programs, demonstrating how collaboration can directly impact students’ opportunities and experiences.

As he looks ahead, Daniel remains committed to being a strong, visible voice for music education in his state, reminding fellow educators that advocacy starts with the stories shared from their classrooms every day.
