FARMINGTON HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE

Mark your calendars!! Farmington High Theatre students will bring Disney's The Little Mermaid to life on April 16, 17 and 18 at 7PM and we want you to join us!!

But, we also want you to keep in mind that ocean conservancy and its message impacts us all…including the characters the cast will be portraying “Under the Sea.”

The ocean provides the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink. Our focus will be on the use of plastic shopping bags which have a devastating impact on the environment. During a year of coastal, ocean and waterway cleanups, volunteers around the world collected 1 million plastic bags with approximately 66 billion entering our oceans annually.

Hopefully, we can entertain and educate our audiences during The Little Mermaid. We will be offering reusable shopping bags for a minimum donation of $5.00. A portion of the monies will go to ocean conservancy and the remainder will help to power the FHS Theatre program.

The Little Mermaid will be presented at Farmington High Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m.

All tickets are general seating and will be available at the door each evening of performances or at FHS during lunches from 11:00 - 12:30 April 12 through 17. Our box office will be available to call after April 8 at 248.888.6274.

Student and senior adult tickets are $12, adult tickets are $15 and children 5 and under will be $5. We take cash or checks made payable to Farmington Public Schools. And, for those over 60, please remember that you may receive a Senior Adult Card from School and Community Relations if you are a resident of Farmington/Farmington Hills which will make it possible for you to have free admittance.

As a really special part of each evening, we will have a drawing for the 12 and under group in attendance. Your ticket will automatically be in the drawing, but if you are in any character costume from The Little Mermaid, you will have a second ticket in the drawing.

Remember Sebastian's words as you think about our oceans, "The seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake. You dream about going up there, but that is a big mistake. Just look at the world around you right here on the ocean floor. Such wonderful things surround you...what more is you lookin' for?"

See you soon!!

Farmington, MI – Join us as the Farmington High School theatre cast and crew bring to life the screwball black comedy that has endured the test of time, Arsenic and Old Lace. This will be director Dean Cobb’s 106th show and 56th year in the FPS district and will prove to be an evening full of talent, humor, and laughs.

In this Broadway hit, you’ll be introduced to the charming elderly Brewster sisters; Martha (Vera Bard-Kuhl) and Abby (Izzy Hopper), who decide that poisoning their poor, lonely lodgers and burying them in the cellar, is saving them from the woes of the world. Their delusional brother Teddy, who thinks he’s Theodore Roosevelt (Alec Girbach), unwittingly helps them in their plans thinking the deaths were caused by Yellow Fever.

In the meantime, the ladies’ nephew, Mortimer (Julian Culver), who is about to marry Elaine Harper (Kelsey Hill), fears he may be destined for the madness he believes runs in his family. Of course, the plot thickens with the arrival of Mortimer’s brother, Jonathon (Zack Burns), a disfigured and dangerous criminal and his accomplice and personal surgeon, Dr. Einstein (Opal Murray), which, needless to say, leads to a series of chaotic and humorous situations.

Performances of Arsenic and Old Lace are on Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Farmington High School auditorium.

$10 general seating tickets are available at the door and through the box office at 248.888.6274 after December 1, or during all lunches (11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) December 4 & 5. Cash or checks made payable to Farmington Public Schools are accepted.

And…for our over 60 crowd, make sure you have your “Senior Adult Card” for free entry into the show. You are able to get this card at Central Office (33000 Freedom Road) by showing proof of residency.

Farmington High is located at 32000 Shiawassee, Farmington.
