Imagine every dollar you pay toward your student loans actually going toward paying off what you borrowed - not thousands in interest.

The Student Loan Interest Elimination Act, co-led by CT Representative Joe Courtney, proposes refinancing existing federal student loans to 0% interest.

Why this matters for Connecticut borrowers:
- payments go directly toward your principal debt balance
- Creates a self-sustaining Education Affordability Trust Fund, protecting taxpayers while lowering costs for borrowers
- Helps young professionals, nurses, teachers, and grads build financial stability right here in CT
