One $750 scholarship. Eligible applicants: 2025 or 2026 FPS graduates who attended Lanigan Elementary. 𝐀𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭! 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟓 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭.

💙You might know him as 𝐌𝐫. 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧, the man in the picture of Lanigan Elementary’s front lobby. He was the heart of Larkshire Elementary in Farmington Public Schools, from its opening in 1965 until he retired after 31 years. Upon his retirement, Mr. Lanigan was touched and greatly honored when the Farmington School District renamed Larkshire to be 𝐉.𝐀. 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥.

💙Every student who walked through the doors at Larkshire and Lanigan knew they were welcome, safe, and loved. By leading a collaboration with parents, teachers, and community members, Mr. Lanigan aided in feeding families, clothing children, running holiday drives, and reaching out to those who could benefit from support.

💙Upon his death in 2025, a fund was established to continue to support students who attended Lanigan Elementary. His family, colleagues, and Lanigan staff past and present are honored to support a former Lanigan student to achieve their full potential through the 𝐀𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩.

Our grant tour concluded on Friday, Feb. 27, with a few final grants awarded in the days beyond as well.

We were honored to celebrate 🅴🅻🅴🆅🅴🅽 more grant recipients from 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡, 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡, 𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, and 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. We were even able to catch the 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐚𝐤𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐬 service club to award their grant when they were kicking off Reading Month at Beechview Elementary!

It was so rewarding to meet with each of you. We are truly inspired by everything you do!

Grant excitement didn't stop on Wednesday! On Thursday, our board members visited ⓕⓘⓥⓔ more schools: 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡, 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞, 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝. We are excited to support your energy and creativity (including two proposals written by 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬)!

Today’s visits to award ⓣⓔⓝ 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 grants really exemplify how FFHEF grants support the 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠—from early childhood classrooms and student clubs to SEL initiatives, specialized technical labs, and the arts.

𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐤 Elementary, 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐞 Elementary, 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 Elementary, and 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐥 Elementary, you are all creating an 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 for our students; 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮!
