**New Staff Spotlight: Dallas Cordahl - Special Education Teacher**

My name is Dallas Cordahl, and this will be my 4th year teaching special education. I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education in Colorado and my graduate degree in Special Education through the University of St. Thomas. I live with my wife, Claire, who is also an educator, and our two cats, Franny and Topanga. We love to spend time outside, read, draw, cook, and travel.

As a teacher, my goal is to create an open and caring space where children feel comfortable and supported in their learning. I do what I do because I believe every child has the right to an education that meets their needs. I'm excited to continue this work at Riverview and collaborate with others who share the belief that all students with different abilities are valuable to the learning community and deserve an equitable education. I'm looking forward to being part of a team of educators who are making learning meaningful and impacting the growth of all students.

**New Staff Profile**

My name is Laurie Kelley and this is my 17th year in education. For the past 8 years I have served as the instructional coach in Faribault. My previous experience includes being a Title 1 and kindergarten teacher in California and Minnesota. I live in Northfield with my partner Jeff and two little girls named Irie and Luella. We love to camp and bike in the summer and will be adding a new puppy into our family this fall as well! I am so excited to get to know each and every teacher and student at Riverview. **New Staff Spotlight** My name is Jake Cochnauer, and I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. I am thrilled to be joining the Riverview team as a teacher this year! This opportunity is especially meaningful because Riverview is the school I attended growing up, making this a true full-circle moment.

I am incredibly grateful to become part of such a welcoming and supportive community once again, and I am excited for the opportunity to give back to the school that played such an important role in my own education. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, and traveling to watch my brother play football.

I can’t wait to meet the students, families, and staff, and I am looking forward to a fantastic school year at Riverview!

**New Staff Spotlight**

Hi, my name is Catherine Lewis. I am excited to be joining the Riverview family as a paraprofessional. I was born and raised in Oklahoma, graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Masters in Social Work. I worked as a licensed clinical social work provider for 36 years before I made the decision to retire. Of course retirement does not mean I don’t work – it simply means I get to do something I will really enjoy, while still working with others.

I moved to Farmington with my daughter and granddaughter in June of this year. I am enjoying the Minnesota weather and overall environment. In my free time, I enjoy fixing up and decorating the house, crocheting and getting back into working with stained glass. I am raising my 10 year old granddaughter who is very good at keeping life entertaining.

I am so excited to be joining Riverview Elementary and look forward to what the school year brings.

**New Staff Update**

Hello! My name is Brooke Scanlon, and I am excited to be joining the Riverview Elementary team this fall as a special education paraprofessional. I earned my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and have spent many years working with children as both a teacher and a coach. Helping children learn, grow, and build confidence has always been my passion, and I am looking forward to supporting students and collaborating with the wonderful staff at Riverview.

I live in Farmington with my husband, Joe. We have two adult children, both Farmington graduates, who keep us incredibly proud and busy. Our daughter Brianna, is beginning her second year at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where she plays lacrosse. Our son Drew, has enlisted in the Marine Corps and currently is in boot camp in San Diego. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, camping, taking walks, and spending quality time with family and friends. I am thrilled to begin this new chapter and can't wait to get to know the students, families, and staff. I look forward to building positive relationships and helping create a supportive, encouraging environment where every child can succeed.

**New Staff Spotlight**

My name is Nick Hooper, and I am excited to be joining Riverview Elementary as a Learner Support Specialist this fall.

I grew up in North Dakota and earned my undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota and my master's degree from Baruch College in New York City. I've spent the past 20 years working in education in a variety of roles, and I've been fortunate to work with some amazing students, families, and educators along the way.

When I'm not at school, you'll usually find me on a golf course, looking through baseball cards, or spending time with family and friends. I also have a cat named Bridget who definitely believes she's in charge of the house.

One of the things that drew me to Farmington was its small-town feel and strong sense of community. From my very first interactions, everyone was incredibly welcoming, and it felt like a place where people genuinely care about one another. That made me even more excited about the opportunity to join the Riverview team.

I look forward to meeting students, families, and staff and becoming part of the Riverview community. I'm excited for a great year ahead!
