Today Life Safety Strategies and N&F Training Solutions conducted an 8-hour Active Killer Training for Farmington Police and Fire. It was a great class with a great group of professionals. We never want to think that it can happen here, but we want to make sure we’re as prepared as we can be. Thank you to Dave Kruse for coming down and teaching the course. Thank you Chief Baker and Mecey for allowing us to train with your departments.

The homeowner called in a burglary in progress with shots fired. The homeowner stated it was a female suspect. The first deputy on scene made entry into the residence and was ambushed by the homeowner. The homeowner had already killed several others inside the residence. It took SWAT teams four hours to get into the deputy who was also a swat team member. He was flown to a local hospital but passed away. The mobile home caught fire and burnt to the ground with the suspect inside. RIP Deputy Matthew Yates and our condolences to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

JSO’s air unit scooped up the injured dog and flew him to a vet clinic in Jax Beach.
