A HUGE thank you to Chick-fil-A for blessing our students!

During Homecoming week, over 100 of our high school students visited our schools to spend time with younger students, talking about character traits, making good choices, getting involved, and all the opportunities waiting for them in high school.

These students gave their time, shared their experiences, answered questions, and hopefully left some younger students excited about the future and the kind of person they want to become.

Chick-fil-A made sure our student volunteers were taken care of by donating lunch for over 100 students!

It takes a village, and we are so grateful for community businesses that step up and support our students. Thank you, Chick-fil-A, for helping making this experience possible and for investing in our kids! 💛🖤

🎭 Fall Production Announcement

The Farmington High School Theatre Guild is excited to present its fall production of The Play That Goes Wrong (High School Edition), written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields.

Rated PG, this hilarious comedy follows the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society as they attempt to stage The Murder at Haversham Manor. Unfortunately, things don't go quite as planned! From onstage mishaps to backstage chaos, the cast and crew find themselves in one hilarious disaster after another.

An Important Message to Our Farmington Community Regarding Public Education Funding

Following the State Board of Education’s September meeting, where members voted not to fully fund the foundation formula, the Farmington School District and public schools across Missouri are facing serious financial challenges.

The Farmington School District is facing an estimated shortfall of $1,622,000. A loss of this magnitude directly impacts our day-to-day operations, program offerings, and long-term planning for our students. Across our entire MAAA Conference, total funding cuts are estimated to reach $7.8 million.

Farmington stands united with our fellow school districts across the MAAA Conference in asking for your help. We need our community to stand up for our students and advocate to our Governor and state legislators to restore this vital funding in the coming months.

🎓 Farmington named 1 of 5 pilot districts in Missouri for Mizzou’s Direct Admission Program! 🎓

The University of Missouri has officially chosen Farmington as one of only FIVE school districts in the entire state to launch its new Direct Admission program! 💛⚔️🖤

Through this groundbreaking partnership, qualifying FHS students get guaranteed admission to Mizzou with zero application fees and no traditional application required.

📌 HOW IT WORKS:
Students in designated Early College Programs automatically qualify by the end of their junior year if they:
1️⃣ Earn a minimum 3.0 core GPA
2️⃣ Complete at least 12 college credit hours

Dual Credit & Internship Coordinator Erica Dement shared that Mizzou noticed a steady surge in FHS grads entering college with 12+ dual credit hours. Principal Dr. Jamie LaMonds added: "When Mizzou originally reached out, they indicated our students were prepared and statistically more successful."

Eligible juniors will be officially notified of their guaranteed spot at Mizzou by August 1, right before senior year starts. FHS is already working directly with interested students in the Class of 2028 to prepare!

Farmington joins Columbia Public Schools, Lee’s Summit, Liberty, and North Kansas City in this inaugural cohort.

What a week! From dress-up days and class competitions to the parade, pep rally, football game, and all the school spirit in between, our Knights showed up and made Homecoming Week one to remember! 👑🏈🎉

A huge thank you to our students, staff, families, alumni, and community for helping make the week so special. And a special shoutout to everyone who helped plan, organize, decorate, participate, and cheer our Knights on along the way!

What another engaging and eye-opening day with Cohort 3 of our Black Knight Insight program! 💡

Today, our community members went behind the scenes at both the Middle School and the Dayse Baker Learning Center for a hands-on look at how we support our students academically, socially, and emotionally.

Here are a few highlights from today’s journey:

⏱️ The Middle School Experience: Participants dove into i-Ready and learned how our educators analyze data metrics to tailor instruction for every learner before spending some time in some classrooms. Students gave a presentation on some of the clubs and after-school activities offered. They also experienced for themselves the fast-paced "4-minute crossover" or the amount of time students get to change classes throughout the day without being late! To make it real, one group navigated the process of getting a loaner Chromebook, while another had to handle a last-minute schedule change at the office, all while racing to beat the bell to their next class.

🥪 Lunch & Dialogue at Dayse Baker: The group headed over to Dayse Baker Learning Center for a Subway lunch, sitting down directly with students to hear their perspectives and share great conversation.

🏫 Deep-Dive Tour & Honest Conversations: Principal Jenna Hemmann walked participants through the facility for a tour followed by an insightful Q&A session. The conversation focused on the reality of what DBLC is, what it offers and how it has transformed over the years and eventually finished on a discussion of district finance.

A huge thank you to our staff, students, and community participants for making day two so meaningful. Seeing our district in action together is what Black Knight Insight is all about!

Huge thanks to former NASA employee, Mit Landrum, for visiting Mrs. Wulfert’s Earth, Space & Beyond class! 🚀

We love when our alumni come back home!🎓

On Saturday, October 3, alumni from the Classes of ’79, ’81, and ’85, and members of the Class of '76 returned to the high school for a special tour.

The visit offered a wonderful opportunity to reminisce, share stories, and walk down memory lane highlighted by the discovery of their own class photos proudly displayed in the Hall of Fame.
