π Royal treatment at Adelaide Elementary today! π
A huge thank you to HB Boys, the local franchisees of Burger King, for visiting our 1st and 3rd grade classrooms β and for going way above and beyond. Every single student at Adelaide is heading into summer with 10 free meals from Burger King. That's thousands of meals to help bridge the gap when school is out.
Summer hunger is real for so many kids in our community, and partners like HB Boys make sure no child has to wonder where their next meal is coming from. The crowns were a hit. The generosity is unmatched.
Thank you, HB Boys, for being a true champion for Davis kids. π

π A Mighty Heart in Action
Today at Knowlton Elementary, Shaunee McFadden was surprised with the $10,000 Heidi Martin Mighty Heart Educator of Excellence Award. The room was full β Foundation board members, district leaders, school board members and staff all showed up to celebrate her.
But hereβs what says everything: Even with an assembly in her honor, Shaunee was in the back of her classroom helping a student through a difficult moment. Staff had to create an elaborate plan just to get her there. When she realized what was happening, she was overwhelmed with emotion and couldnβt speak.
Thatβs what a mighty heart looks like. Read the full story and see photos from the day: π https://www.daviseducationfoundation.org/o/def/article/2713580

Davis School District has some absolute rockstars in the classroom, and weβre excited to recognize our most recent Excellence in Education recipients.
