I was happy to be asked to be part of this podcast with the focus (this time) on Community Schools. “Community School Director Robby Kinghorn discusses school leadership and addressing students' academic and personal needs. By organizing efforts such as supplying shoes and hosting community events, school leaders aim to strengthen the bond between schools and families, encouraging self-sufficiency and deeper engagement.”

Every Week we have a variety of Awesome Opportunities happening after school within our schools. Last week the Clearfield High School Cheerleaders put on a clinic for five elementary schools in Clearfield. In total we have 256 students participate. Because of great partnerships this was at no cost to the student or their family, but still a fund raiser for the cheer squad. Friday night at the CHS home game they cheered to a packed crowd which counting them added over 750 more people in attendance for the game.
Thank you CHS Cheer Squad, Cheer Advisors, and Schools for supporting this! If you would like to find out how to sponsor more things like this, from sports and art, to cheer, theater, and so much more, please reach out!

We recently had a phenomenal community schools back to school family night, where we welcomed over 60 community partners and district departments to offer support and resources to the over 4,000 individuals who showed up. We enjoyed a wonderful time together, with dinner, games, a balloon artist, face painting – truly an amazing community night!

This summer, we had the pleasure of serving students from a variety of schools within the Davis School District. Our programs offered an array of exciting classes, including Cooking, Gardening, Robotics, Music, Art, and Track. Each of these activities brought unique experiences and joy to both the students and their families.
One story (and picture) that particularly stands out, with the permission of the student and her mother to share, is a heartfelt testimonial about the impact of our Track program. This student's story highlights not only her personal growth but also the profound effect that Track has had on her family. Track has proven to be more than just a sport for her—it has been a gateway to a host of benefits, including physical fitness, social connections, and life skills.
“On Tuesday our participated in her summer camp track meet. She was so excited and I was so happy that she was so willing to participate. She practiced her long jump here at home almost everyday.
She is the cutest sprinter and relay tail! We love her so much and her sister was so happy to cheer for her! We could see her crack a little smile when she heard her sister yell
"GO (Student Name)!" When I went back to pick them up she was so excited to have her little medal. She told me I didn't win Mom, but I had so much fun! I told her that morning that winning isn't everything but having fun and being happy for those that do get a trophy shows that she's a good friend and a great human being! I'm so proud of her sister for being willing to volunteer with the program and for their Aunty Esther Rowland, Uncle Billy, Tiana, and Pancho for always taking care of my girls! Love u guys!! (Student Name) came home yesterday and shouted in the car "I LOVE SUMMER CAMP!"
As we look to the future and strive to expand opportunities for all students in Davis County, we need your support. The success of our programs relies heavily on the dedication and involvement of our community members. Our goal is to establish Track programs in every elementary school within the next two years, offered free of charge to all students. Track is an accessible sport that provides numerous benefits as students grow older, extending beyond junior high and high school to foster a lifelong commitment to health and fitness.
Additionally, Track helps build valuable life skills such as teamwork, continuous improvement, accountability, and integrity. It also creates a platform for forming friendships and personal growth. We believe that by expanding these opportunities, we can make a lasting impact on our students' lives, helping them develop into well-rounded, confident individuals.
