Don’t miss out on this! Professional learning on the topics we actually want to hear about. For teachers, by teachers. And freebies for registering!

This year took a lot out of public educators. 🍎

That is why UEA’s Summer Learning Institute shares practical learning around what many of us are carrying right now: burnout, classroom behavior, resiliency, instructional support and tools for the year ahead. Register by May 30 (in bio/comments)

The first 200 participants who complete the required registration steps and attend SLI will receive useful swag, including a $50 Minky Couture gift card. (thanks Minky!)

Hotel accommodations may be available for qualifying members traveling from outside the area, but registration is needed as soon as possible.

Spending Saturday with a few (hundred) of our favorite friends at the UEA House of Delegates. Thank you delegates for being willing to serve and spend a Saturday with us setting the business of the association!

It’s Tax Day. Utah is sending $120 million in taxpayer dollars to a voucher program a district judge ruled unconstitutional. (The state is appealing the ruling.)

In the first year, according to The Salt Lake Tribune:
• $24.2 million went to private school tuition
• $5.8 million went to Amazon purchases
• $1.9 million went to field trips like ski lessons and scuba diving

Meanwhile, public schools are underfunded and asked to do more with less.

Public money belongs in public schools.
