Great advice for all my parents of toddlers!

In our program we work to teach the children to read facial expressions in relation to an action (such as when a child hits, invades space or takes toys form another child) in order to develop awareness of how thier actions affect the emotions and actions of others.

When young children engage in negative behaviors its because they don't have a better way of communicating frustration or the desire to have their needs met.

Offering information and modeling compassion are much more effective ways of creating the conditions where children become aware of how thier actions affect others.

Our goal is to teach the children to be self disciplined rather than externally disciplined by an adult.

The words we use with our children become the inner dialogue they use when faced with a problem, its so important for us to choose wisely!

Apologies are great when children are able to understand the meaning behind them.

Instead of telling kids they “need” to apologize, we can:

✅ State the action that happened
✅ Address how the action made the other child feel
✅ Find a way to make them feel better

Rather than simply asking for compliance - when we help children know better, we help them do better!

We’re doing lots of fun things in our class today!

We’re observing lots of fall objects of various textures that are BROWN.

On our science table we had many thibgs of various different textures to touch and look at.

We have shakers, wood cookies, fluff from the woods, pinecones, textured pumpkins and lots of other little treasures.

Leaning to observe and describe objects is a great way to facilitate observation and communication skills.

We’re hiring a part time assistant in our preschool program starting at 15.00 an hour

We offer flexible work schedule, paid holidays and paid training.

Qualifications:
Have a High school Diploma or equivalent
Be willing to complete a Background Check
Be willing to complete a TB test
Have a passion for working with children
Be at least 18 years of age
Experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:
Work in a home daycare environment with children aged 1-4 years old.

Ensure the daily care of every child by following licensing guidelines
Ensuring safety and well-being of young children.

Help to maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized

Ensure children are supervised at all times.

Support Lead Teacher in implementing daily routine and curriculum.

Today we’re talking about fire safety and having our FIRST fire drill in our new location.

We read some stories about fire fighters, talked about smoke detectors and reviewed our fire safety plan.
🔥
During group time we practiced our stop drop and roll, then timed ourselves to see how quickly we can complete our fire evacuation!

We’re exploring force and motion in a variety of ways this morning.

One thing preschoolers and toddlers love to do is to CRASH, BANG and THROW things so we’ve set up a few fun activities that allow them to explore to their hearts delight in a safe way.

We set out a target practice woth cups and plastic balls for stacking up and knocking down.
💥
We also suspended a hula hoop from our tent roof then created a ramp for pushing cars hard and fast through the moving hoop.

The children were delighted with the opportunity to see how fast and hard they could push get their cars to go!

We’re welcoming our NEW friend Gracie into our program today!

As we are helping all of our little ones learn the new routine we’ve been setting up play provocations that appeal to toddlers and preschoolers alike.
🎉
One of the children’s favorite activities was stacking blocks up and knocking them over in the small world area.
🎉
