High school students, especially 12th graders, are reading and learning math and science at historic lows, according to a new report from the National Assessment of Education Progress.

The report shows almost half of high school seniors are now testing below basic levels in math and reading, and approximately 35% are at or above a proficient reading level, while 32% of them had a below "basic" reading proficiency.

Here is just a glimpse of our epic Halloween Art Night! We had so much fun! Art project, mummies, dances, contests, prizes…. And much more (we’ll keep it a secret for the next time).
Ms.Katya and Ms.Larisa are so excited and grateful to have hosted this amazing party! We hope we will have many thrilling events this holiday season! But!!! in a meantime, we are looking forward to seeing you in our classes!

Dear members of our community!
My name is Ekaterina Tokareva and I am the owner and teacher of Level Up Learning- tutoring center in Farmington Hills which specializes in ESL (English as a second language) and K-5 tutoring.
As of April 2022, I started supporting newly arrived refugees from Ukraine. I am donating as much time, supplies, and books as I can, as well as teaching free, weekly ESL classes, with a duration of 2-3 hours. So far, I have had 5 kids coming to my classes. Even though the age range is 7-18, I am applying the best possible approach to ESL given the circumstances. I strongly believe that these classes can make a difference and prepare the students for the upcoming school year in September.
As of last week, I had 10 more kids coming to me seeking help.
I sincerely wish I could help all the families and kids by myself, but at this moment I am the only teacher offering services, and my center is not supported by any external organizations. With 10 more students coming, I will have to create at least 2 more groups. To my regret, I’m not financially prepare to do so.
I am reaching out to ask for help from my community. I sincerely believe, together, we can accomplish so much more!
Help needed:
1. If you have any books that are no longer needed (teens or children/ chapter or study books), it would be of great help if you donate them to my center.
2. There is always need for school supplies, so any donation even the smallest one would be greatly appreciated.
3. If you are a teacher/ or a college student and would like to volunteer your time in teaching, it would allow us to help more kids and support a great cause.
4. And last but not least, the main thing is creating extended summer schedule (these 2-3 groups mentioned above) for the kids. I’m hoping to get enough funds from our community to make it happen.
