LI Flute Studio in partnership with MusicLink is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2021- 2022 academic year.

Benefits include:
•Full or partial scholarships
•NYSSMA and other competition. fees covered
•Instrument request program
•Nomination for the Senior Excellence Award of $1,000
•Nomination for Summer Music Program Scholarship of $250

Deadline is August 15, 2021. Scholarships are first come first serve.

What is "off the flute" practice?

Playing the flute is fun, but it can be challenging especially for little kiddos.

Off the flute practice similar to off the bench for piano 🎹 students. We practice musical 🎼 concepts before adding the flute. Separating concepts and adding them together slowly 🐌 allows for a greater understanding.

Here we're learning about the note B. Kiddo and music 🎶 buddies identify the note, before playing.

How do you get your kiddos to practice? 🤔

Practice kits are a great way to get your flute kiddos to practice without the hassle.

Every student upon starting lessons gets a practice kit. The kits include various practice games printed on index cards.

Each kit contains
-fun colored dice 🎲 for practice games

- gel highlighters to mark music 🎶 (I used to use marker highlighters but got tired of the bleed through)

- Flashcards

- Sticky note flags for chunking and looping

- Practice buddies
