Registration for Level 1 Instructor Shooting Sports Trainings will take place in 4-H Online System. You must enroll as a volunteer first in the system (see directions to enroll below). After you complete enrollment in 4-H Online, your Parish Agent will approve you as a volunteer (make sure and touch base with your local 4-H Agent). You can then proceed in signing up for Ascension and Jackson Trainings. Two options to pay for trainings are credit card or participants can pay by check. Contact your local agent with any questions/issues. Job descriptions are attached.

- September 12, 2026 (Ascension Parish) – Muzzle Loading Only Active in 4-H Online
- October 17, 2026 (Desoto Parish) - Air Rifle/BB/.22 Rifle, Archery, Hunting Skills, and Shotgun Active in 4-H Online
- October 24, 2026 (Ouachita Parish) - Air Rifle/BB/.22 Rifle, Archery, Coordinator, and Shotgun Active in 4-H Online
- October 31, 2026 (Acadia Parish) - Air Pistol/.22 Pistol, Air Rifle/BB/.22 Rifle, Archery, and Shotgun Active in 4-H Online

HOW TO REGISTER IF ALREADY ENROLLED IN 4-H ONLINE: as an adult:
1. Login to 4-H Online at https://v2.4honline.com/ #/user/sign-in
2. Enroll Now for 2026-2027 program year.
3. Click Member List on left-hand menu (if the system does not automatically bring you to that screen).
4. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. You should see all events you can register for.
5. Find the State 4-H Shooting Sports Trainings and choose the correct date/location for the training you want to attend. Click Register to begin the registration process.
6. If you don’t see the trainings listed under events, you might have to reenroll in 4-H Online. Click on the “Enroll Now” option next to your name under the Member list. Once you have reenrolled, your parish will approve your enrollment and you will then be able to register for the training.

HOW TO REGISTER IF NOT ALREADY ENROLLED IN 4-H ONLINE: Adults must be enrolled in 4H Online to complete registration.

ENROLLMENT TIPS: Be sure the select the parish that you wish to enroll in 4-H. Also, you will need to select clubs and projects as part of 4-H Online Enrollment. If your clubs or projects are not listed select “Club not listed” or “Project not listed.” If you do not get to the point in enrollment that you need to select your clubs, projects, and sign consents, then you have not completed Enrollment.

Come join Louisiana 4-H and FFA members, leaders, alumni, and supporters as we cheer on the LSU Tigers when they take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in Tiger Stadium.🐅

The Perseid Meteor Shower peaks August 11–13 (Tuesday–Thursday)! 🤩

Look up after midnight for your best chance to see 50–75 meteors an hour under clear, dark skies. No moon means darker skies and better viewing!

💫 Why the colors? Chemistry! Different elements create different colors as meteors race into our atmosphere at about 37 miles per second. Most will look yellowish, but some can glow green, teal, or even red.

🔥 And watch for FIREBALLS! The Perseids are famous for producing more bright fireballs than any other meteor shower.

Grab a blanket, head outside, look up—and enjoy the show! 🌌🌠

*4-H Online Enrollment Tips & Tricks!*
Ensure a smooth 4-H Online experience with these key points:

One family = one login. Each household uses one family account. If you’ve been enrolled before, log back in with the same email. Don’t create a brand-new account.
Youth vs. Adult roles. Youth members and adult volunteers must both be entered into the system. Select the right classification for each participant.
The health form is required to ensure staff and volunteers can best support your child at activities and events.
Save your progress often. 4-H Online logs you out after periods of inactivity.
Notifications (like approval messages or reminders) may land in spam; add system emails to your safe senders list.
Union Parish office can only accept cash or check payments in the office. Enrollment fees can be paid directly in 4-H Online via card. Be sure to finish the payment step to complete your submission.
Enrollment isn’t official until approved. Your application is reviewed by the extension office first. You’ll receive an email once you’re officially enrolled.
