As part of our Red Ribbon Week Door Decorating Contest, one of our classrooms got extra creative with a fun Tom and Jerry theme! But instead of the familiar cartoon faces, students replaced Tom and Jerry with the faces of our very own principal and assistant principal!

Their message? "Chase Greatness, Be a Hero!"

What a fun way to remind students that making positive choices, being kind, and staying on the right path can make a difference!

And the best part? Jason and Lee joined in on the fun and posed for a picture next to their cartoon look alikes!

We love seeing our students' creativity, humor, and school spirit shine during Red Ribbon Week!

Image Description: Jason and Lee stand smiling on either side of a classroom door decorated for the Red Ribbon Week Door Decorating Contest. The door features a creative Tom and Jerry theme, with the administrators' faces replacing the cartoon characters' faces. At the top, a handwritten message reads, “That's All Folks!” and at the bottom, “Chase greatness, be a hero!” The two administrators pose beside their cartoon look-alikes, celebrating students' creativity and the importance of making positive choices.

Last week, we shared how our middle school students explored hands-on STEM challenges with the Regional STEM Center from RIT/NTID. Now, it's our high school students' turn!

Our high school students had the opportunity to dive into the world of coding and computer science! Through interactive activities and group challenges, students explored how coding works, practiced problem-solving, and worked together to think through different solutions.

It was wonderful to see our students sharing ideas, asking questions, and putting their critical thinking skills to work! 💡

A huge THANK YOU to the Regional STEM Center from RIT/NTID for spending the day with our students last week!

Today, we welcomed the Regional STEM Center from RIT/NTID to MSAD for a day of hands-on STEM learning with our middle school and high school students!

This morning, our middle school students rolled up their sleeves and took on some exciting STEM design challenges, including the Marshmallow Building Challenge! Using spaghetti and marshmallows, students worked together to plan, build, test, and explore their creative ideas.

There was plenty of teamwork, problem solving, creativity, and laughter along the way! Who knew spaghetti and marshmallows could make learning so much fun?!

A big THANK YOU to the Regional STEM Center at RIT/NTID for visiting MSAD and providing our students with these wonderful learning opportunities!

In Deaf Studies, Elementary students are learning about ASL, Deaf history, jokes, the Deaf community, Deaf identity, and Deaf culture.

We invited one of our teachers, Zach, to explain DeafBlindness to the students. He shared information, showed us pictures, and brought books to help the students learn more. The students asked many thoughtful and interesting questions.

Thank you, Zach, for stopping by!
