I have built Kids Cottage Daycare on my belief that the core skills needed for a successful, productive life are learned and expanded upon from birth on up and critical before the age of 6. Learning, communication, emotional and interpersonal skills are developed during these formative years. In a safe, caring environment I nurture each child into reaching his or her full creative, intellectual, s
ocial and independent self. I recognize the extraordinary expansion that occurs during these early years. Therefore I focus on stimulating each child’s innate craving for knowledge by introducing and reinforcing core learning competencies and promoting accelerated growth. I use combination of the Parent Aware approved Mother Goose Time and 1-2-3 Learn Curriculum's and age-specific materials to stimulate education. Children are exposed to a wide variety of experiences to expand creative thinking, and make each day exciting. Homework links and materials are utilized to encourage parental participation. The learning process is continually monitored on an individualized basis to work closely with parents and children in order for the child to get the most out of each day. I understand children respond best to teachers who instruct with love and kindness, therefore I am continually training and taking professional development courses to learn and incorporate the most up-to-date teaching methods for this nurturing fashion. I believe that children work better in a clean and orderly environment. The daycare is well maintained, with up-to-date play facilities and age-appropriate educational curriculum that encourage fun and exercise. Safety and security is the highest priority at Kids Cottage daycare. Picture ID's of everyone, other than custodial parents, will be required to confirm those authorized to pick the children up from daycare. Anyone, other than a custodial parent, arriving to pick up the child(ren) without a picture ID will NOT be allowed to leave with the child(ren). Each day parents or authorized representatives are required to manually sign the child(ren) in and out on the sheet posted by the door. My goal is to have each parent and child excited to be part of my system each day.
