We are a retail bead shop, plus offering design, repair, classes, teaching, and our online marketing of bead kits. Our bead inventory consists of seed beads and delicas, the Diakonos Leather kits, and our GGB kits. You can access us in the Lower Level in the Bachrach Building via the stairs or elevator. We are still in the same building just in the lower level.

This cycle keeps your beadwork intact-and it's way more straightforward than most people think.

Here's how I walk through it every time I'm choosing threading material:

Step 1: Assess bead weight. Heavy gemstones or larger glass beads need more support than seed beads. That weight determines what your thread has to hold up.

Step 2: Determine durability need. Is this a bracelet worn daily? A statement necklace for special occasions? Everyday pieces demand stronger materials; delicate projects have more flexibility.

Step 3: Consider flexibility. Some projects need give (like strands that move naturally). Others need rigidity (like structural beadwork). This shapes whether you lean into thread, Nymo, or wire.

Step 4: Match to material. Nymo handles weight and holds knots beautifully but can fray. Beading wire is durable and stiff-perfect for dimensional work. Silk flows and feels luxe but needs care. Specialty thread splits the difference.

The trade-off is real: durability often costs more in material and sometimes in flexibility. But once you see the pattern, choosing stops feeling like a guess.

Here's the truth: the biggest barrier to starting your beading practice isn't skill-it's knowing where to begin.

I've watched so many talented people talk themselves out of trying because they believed beading required years of experience or expensive tools. Neither is true.
