Welcome back to school, Falcons! We’re getting ready for another great year at Faribault High School and wanted to share a few important dates and reminders.

FHS Open House is August 26 from 3:30–7:00 p.m. Students can stop by to pick up their Chromebooks in the Media Center.

9th graders will have their first day of school on August 31, and all 9th–12th grade students will be back in school on September 1!

As you get ready for the new school year, don’t forget your notebooks, folders and pencils. Students should also reach out to their counselor with any questions about their schedule.

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back and starting a great school year together!

Congratulations to Joelle Weasler! Joelle graduated from Faribault High School in June and this fall Joelle will be attending Winona State University majoring in Elementary Education with the hopes of becoming an elementary school teacher.

We are excited to introduce the 2027 Rice County Fair Ambassador Candidates!

Joelle Weasler is the 17 year old daughter of Dean and Meagan Weasler of Faribault. Joelle graduated from Faribault High School in June and this fall Joelle will be attending Winona State University majoring in Elementary Education with the hopes of becoming an elementary school teacher. Joelle was involved with student council and cheerleading in high school and served as a captain for the cheerleading squad this past year. Joelle works at Muddy Paws Resort & Spa and also received her CNA certification at South Central College while also being enrolled as a PSEO student. Joelle also enjoys photography and volunteering her free time. Joelle's favorite fair memory is seeing the community come together and celebrate one another. She enjoys seeing the animals and the art that has been entered at the fair. Joelle would like to be a 2027 Rice County Fair Senior Ambassador to support the community by promoting the fair and its history. She wants to be a responsible role model for the community. Joelle is sponsored by Federal League Hockey.

Congratulations to Bridget Wroblewski! Bridget is a senior at Faribault High School and has recently been selected as a 2026 Rice County Fair Ambassador candidate. She is actively involved in volleyball, DECA, AVID, and PSEO, and will graduate with both her high school diploma and an associate degree. She is also pursuing a CNA certification and plans to study dentistry after graduation.

Bridget Wroblewski is the 17 year old daughter of Dulce and James Wroblewski of Faribault. This fall she will be a senior at Faribault High School and is also enrolled as a PSEO student. Following her high school graduation, she wants to pursue a degree in dentistry at the University of Minnesota. Bridget has participated in volleyball, DECA, and AVID during her time in school. She will graduate with both her High School Diploma and her Associate of Arts Degree from South Central College in 2027. She is currently working towards her CNA certification this summer. Bridget also works at Ace Hardware in Faribault and is completing an internship with Adult Education through the Faribault Public Schools. In her free time, Bridget enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She believes this experience would help her grow as a leader while allowing her to give back to a community that has given me so much. Growing up, she’s enjoyed attending the Rice County Fair and seeing how it brings families, organizations, and community together. Bridget would like to be a 2027 Rice County Fair Senior Ambassador to serve as a positive role model in her community, work to promote the many events that happen in the community, and to give back to her community. The Rice County Fair has been an important part of her life and family memories, and she would be honored to represent and support it while inspiring others to become involved in their community. Bridget is sponsored by Faribault Foods.

The 2026 yearbook spring supplement has arrived! If you purchased a yearbook, you can pick your supplement up in the main office this summer. Please note: the office is closed on Fridays. If you're not able to pick yours up this summer, you will be able to get yours in the fall by stopping by Ms. Fedora's room, C206.

Congratulations to Liam Redman, who was recognized at the Discovery Scholarships Banquet as this year's scholarship recipient. We commend Liam for his hard work and this well-deserved honor and wish him all the best in his future endeavors!

We had a great time at our End of the Year Grill Out and Summer Celebration! Students and staff came together to enjoy good food, fun activities, and great company as we celebrated another successful school year. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a memorable way to wrap up the year. 💚

Yesterday we got to celebrate the hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments of the Class of 2026. As our graduates turn the page to their next chapter, we are proud of all they have achieved and excited for the opportunities that lie ahead. Due to forecasted weather, our commencement ceremony for the Class of 2026 will be moved indoors to the Nomeland Gymnasium. While we understand the challenges that changing venues may cause, ensuring the safety and comfort of our students and guests is our highest priority.

Please review the essential details for Sunday, May 31, 2026 to help us ensure a smooth celebration:

- Time & Location: The ceremony begins at 2:00 PM in the Nomeland Gym.
- Arrival: Doors will close promptly at 1:50 PM to allow the ceremony to begin on time. Late entries cannot be accommodated.
- Ticketing: Due to gym capacity, each graduate is allotted exactly 7 tickets. Extra tickets for the gymnasium are not available.
- Overflow Seating: Additional guests are welcome to view a live broadcast of the ceremony in the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are not required for this area.

Last month, the first annual Careers in Education Day was held at the Faribault Public Schools District Office for students interested in the field of education. The goal of Careers in Education Day was to expose students to the many career opportunities available within a school district.

Students who attended included participants in Denise Mesta’s Grow Your Own Program, Auna Udvig’s Education 101 courses, and several middle school students. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to hear from panelists representing a variety of areas, including curriculum and assessment, activities and athletics, IT, Career and Technical Education (CTE), school outreach, communications, human resources, behavioral health, and community education.

Superintendent Bente and Faribault Middle School Assistant Principal Jesse Armbruster served as keynote speakers during lunch. Following the presentations, students had time to ask questions and get to know the people behind the scenes who help make our schools run each day.

At the end of the session, students were asked whether they planned to pursue a career in education, and most answered with a resounding “yes.”

Events like Careers in Education Day help inspire the next generation of educators and school professionals while showcasing the many rewarding career paths available in public education.
