Our crew had a great time this weekend volunteering at the Minnesota Horse Expo! We loved getting to see all the horses and a little shopping too!

We present the 2025-2026 NDSU Horsemen’s Association! 🦬

Last week, members of the NDSU Horsemen’s Association traveled to Lexington, Kentucky for the American Collegiate Horsemen’s Association (ACHA) National Convention hosted by University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Students got to experience multiple facets of the industry that Lexington offers such as racing, sport horses, and saddle horses. Some of the places they got to experience include Keeneland Race Track, Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital, Kesmarc, and Spy Coast Farm. Along with these industry stops, they also got to explore the Kentucky Horse Park and see live horse racing at Turfway Park with one of the races dedicated to ACHA.

Of the members going, Maggie Waslaski was finishing up her term as the 2025-2026 national president. We are so proud of her accomplishments throughout the year and representing NDSU nationally. In addition, advisor Tara Swanson finished up her term as senior advisor. As for the 2026-2027 year, we will have two NDSU members serve as national officers with Alana Bromenschenkel as vice president and Claire Metzger as treasurer.

A special thank you to University of Tennessee-Knoxville for hosting the convention and providing so many great learning and networking opportunities throughout the week!

⭐️ This week at our meeting we had the chance to talk to respected AQHA Director and Horse Breeder business woman Nikki Medalen!

⭐️We leaned about her history as a breeder and horse owner, and her story’s about her amazing business!

⭐️She also gave us some helpful tips on starting a business in the horse world and some highlights of being an AQHA director and some of her roles and accomplishments with that!

⭐️Thank you so much Nikki for taking the time to speak with us about your life and success, we are truly inspired!

Hey everyone! We are hosting our Halloween with the Horses event for the third consecutive year!

Join us on October 31st from 6-8 out at the Equine Center to meet the horses, participate in some fun activities/crafts, and show off your Halloween costume! We can’t wait to see everyone!
