Meet your Port of Call: Green Bay, Wisconsin

The UMR-ACUHO 2026 Annual Conference will be held October 28–30, 2026, in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. Over the coming months, we'll be highlighting local history, attractions, dining, and hidden gems to help you get to know your conference destination. First stop: Meet Your Port of Call - Green Bay!

Green Bay is Wisconsin's oldest continuously inhabited settlement, with roots dating back to the 1600s. Long before Wisconsin became a state, traders, explorers, and Indigenous communities were building connections and commerce along these shores.

During Green Bay's early years, the waterfront was the center of daily life. Fur traders, voyageurs, and merchants traveled the waterways that connected the Great Lakes to the interior of North America, making Green Bay an important hub for trade and transportation.

The Fox River remains at the heart of Green Bay. Flowing directly through downtown, it continues to connect the community through riverfront trails, gathering spaces, local restaurants, and beautiful views just steps from the KI Convention Center and Hyatt Regency. When you join us in October, you'll be experiencing a city whose story has always been tied to the water.

Every journey has a starting point, and ours begins in Green Bay. We can't wait to welcome you as we Sail Into the Bay for UMR-ACUHO 2026!

⚓ That’s a wrap on Summer Meetings 2026!

This week, members of the Executive Committee, Exhibits Committee, Engagement Committee, Planning & Logistics Committee, Membership Advocacy Committee, Professional Development Committee, and Local Arrangements Committee gathered on the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay campus for collaboration, connection, and conference planning.

From an exciting site visit at our conference venue to selecting outstanding programs for this year’s conference (stay tuned for announcements and details coming soon!), the week was filled with energy, ideas, and momentum.

As we Sail into the Bay this fall, we have a challenge for you: bring one new person to the UMR Annual Conference and make at least one new connection. Our organization is strengthened by the relationships we build and the welcoming community we create together.
