Looking to give back or get connected to the College of Engineering? We’re inviting alumni and industry partners to join the College of Engineering Industry Connections Program as mentors for the 2026–27 academic year!

Industry Connections bridges classroom learning with real-world application. As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to share your insights, help students build crucial professional skills, and prepare the next generation of engineers to successfully enter the workforce after graduation.

Registration is open now through September 18 on our Industry Connections website: https://ndsuengineering.xinspire.com/

We encourage pairs to connect 1-2 times per month, and the program runs through April. Most students are open to remote mentoring, so you don't have to live in the Fargo area to join.

Our first official event in The Loft was a blast! 🚀

NDSU College of Engineering alumni Jason Adam and Austin Decker returned to campus to share their journey as NASA engineers. Speaking to a packed room, they gave students a behind-the-scenes look at NASA’s core goals, cutting-edge technology needs, and the direct pathways to landing internships and full-time positions with the agency.

It was an incredible opportunity for our students to learn firsthand from NDSU graduates who are actively shaping the future of space exploration.

Thank you to Jason and Austin for giving back to Bison Nation and inspiring the next generation of engineers! 🤘🔰🦬

From NDSU student to Superintendent leading the build on campus! 🏗️

Lexie Grandalen graduated from NDSU in 2017 with a degree in construction management. Today, as a Superintendent for McGough Construction, she is helping bring the new, state-of-the-art Richard Offerdahl '65 Engineering Complex to life.

In addition to overseeing site operations, safety, and client relationships, Lexie places a strong focus on mentoring younger team members on-site—paying forward the mentorship she received from NDSU faculty during her college years.

"Seeing a project evolve from initial planning through completion and knowing I played a key role in its successful ex*****on is the most rewarding part of my work," Lexie shared.
