Are you interested in learning more about Deer Creek Elementary School and what the 2026–2027 school year has in store? We invite parents/guardians, learners, and community members to attend our informational session.

This session is designed for families of learners entering grades 1–5 and will provide an opportunity to learn about our school, meet school leaders, hear about our goals and expectations, and ask questions.

Mrs. Kingsley’s 4th and 5th grade Reading GATE/Enrichment groups recently worked hard writing and illustrating original stories for the Prairie Public PBS Kids Writing Contest. This year’s theme was “What Does America Mean to Me?” and the contest was open to all K–5 students in the Prairie Public viewing area.

"Hi everyone! My name is Carlee Sieben, and I am so excited & incredibly grateful to be joining the 2nd grade team at Deer Creek Elementary!

I am originally from Grafton, North Dakota. Growing up with many younger cousins, and having my mom, Laurie (who is the physical education teacher at Deer Creek!), as a teacher/coach sparked my passion for education at a very young age. I graduated from Concordia College with a degree in elementary education & also played on the women’s basketball team for the Cobbers!

In my free time, I love running marathons, golfing, taking cycle classes, coaching basketball, spending time at my lake, traveling, & being with friends & family. I can’t wait to build positive relationships with my students & make it an amazing year full of learning, growth, & fun!"

Your patience, compassion, and dedication help our students find their voices, build confidence, and strengthen communication skills that will last a lifetime. Thank you for the care and encouragement you give to each learner and for the positive impact you make in our school community.
