Maggie Latterell, assistant director of New Student Programs, and Angela Seewald-Marquardt, director of Student Success Programs, work diligently to make sure that each year's summer orientation gives new NDSU students what they need.

"Beginnings are important, and that's what orientation really is for our first-year students," said Seewald-Marquardt. "It allows them to make new connections, learn about resources and to set their expectations for their college experience at NDSU."

The duo connects with nearly every corner of NDSU, working together with over 40 different departments to put on the event each year. If you see them around campus during orientation, make sure to say hello!

NDSU's artificial intelligence degree program prepares students to develop and guide the technologies that are transforming our world.

The rise of ChatGPT and other large language models inspired Pari Narkhede to pursue computer science and artificial intelligence at NDSU.

"When I first used ChatGPT, I was amazed at how you could get instant results," said Narkhede, "and it's only grown in capability since then. I saw the way the developers were working to make it more accurate, and that made me want to understand how the back end of it works."

Through a new partnership between NDSU and Dickinson State University, an academic and clinical pathway has been developed that allows graduates of DSU's Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to pursue advanced practice nursing education through NDSU's Family Nurse Practitioner program.

"Through this collaboration, we're able to maximize the state's investment without duplicating programs, which I think is really important in today's landscape of higher education," said NDSU President Marshall Stewart. "It allows us to more deeply focus on outcomes such as adding providers and building better access to strengthen our rural communities."
