Dr. Yeong Rhee was recognized with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award, presented by Dr. Nate Dicks, Assistant Professor of Exercise Science, alongside Major General (Retired) Mike Haugen. The award honors supervisors who provide exceptional support to members of the Guard and Reserve.

Sawyer Teicher, a graduate student in the Master of Nutrition and Exercise Science program, ran a research study on college students’ relationship with fad diets. The study intended to identify patterns in how students view and participate in alternative dieting.

At the 2026 Bison Leader Awards ceremony this week, the NDSU Student Association of Nutrition and Dietetics (SAND) won the Volunteer Network 2025-2026 Service Project of the Year Award. The award was given for the food drive SAND organized to support the Red River Children’s Advocacy Center. SAND members, NDSU faculty, and community members donated 866 individual snacks to the Red River Children’s Advocacy Center. Morgan Matheson (right), SAND President, and Emma Stoddard (left), SAND member, received the award for the organization. Excellent work and congratulations to all the SAND members!

Dr. Kang, Assistant Professor of Sport Management, has been elected to the Governing Board (GB) of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM), a leading international academic organization in the field of sport management. This appointment highlights Dr. Kang’s contributions to the sport management field and reflects the continued growth and national visibility of the NDSU Sport Management program.
