Animal Science activities and projects can provide opportunities for youth to develop responsibility, patience, understanding, and a multitude of life skills by regularly caring for animals. Furthermore, by learning to feed and care for animals, 4-H members involved in the Animal Science projects learn about animal health, nutrition, physiology, evaluation and reproduction. se and does not always just incorporate the animal, as the environment is a key component of sustainability too. A 4-H member can learn breeds of animals, their characteristics, uses, how to identify them and their influence in the industry. As a result, they can then apply this knowledge to our current industry. Members in the 4-H Animal Science area learn to understand marketing and the economic importance of the livestock industry as well as how to keep and use records.
