Upward Education Advocacy Upward Education Advocacy was founded by Michael Finch, M.A. and is a non-profit serving students and their families in need of special education services.

Upward Education Advocacy is dedicated to helping parents, teachers and students all connect in a meaningful way that enhances the educational experience and achievement of a student. Michael's background is a perfect mix of experience that led him to realize that a much needed service simply did not exist. A background as a teacher, a Personal Care Advocate at a major national health insurance co

mpany and a Master's Degree in differentiated education led Michael to realize that our education systems and our medical community were missing a link to connect the two. Enter Upward Education Advocacy. The mission of Upward Education Advocacy is to provide education support, strategy and solutions to families, schools and education professionals that elevate student comprehension and learning abilities while empowering students and parents through active involvement in the student’s learning. What that means is that we're here to take the guess-work and the pressure off of parent's dealing with a special needs diagnoses. We know the education system. We are highly trained in educational lesson-planning and IEP creation. We can create custom learning adaptations for students and navigate the process of implementing those new lessons plans within a school.
