What a great day at Marketplace For Kids Education Day yesterday! The E2 students displayed their inventions and projects on the Microsoft Campus and attended entrepreneurial classes. Creative minds were definitely at work!

What an incredible day at the 2026 North Dakota State Spelling Bee! We are excited to celebrate our top four finishers:

🥇 1st Place: Chilaka Ugobi - 8th Grade - Ward County
🥈 2nd Place: Chaitanya Gopi - 6th Grade - Cass County
🥉 3rd Place: Sam Edward Pasag - 8th Grade - Grant County
🏅 4th Place: Callen Gelsinger - 8th Grade - Stark County

These students showcased outstanding spelling skills, determination, and composure throughout the competition. We couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments!

Awards were presented by Cecile Wehrman, Director of the North Dakota Newspaper Association, and Nikki Johnsrud, President of the North Dakota Association of County Superintendents.

Best of luck to Chilaka as he advances to represent North Dakota at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May!

📢🐝 Cass County Spelling Bee Results! 🐝📢

On Friday, February 7th, 47 students from 10 different schools competed in the annual Cass County Spelling Bee, showcasing their spelling skills in an exciting competition!

Congratulations to our top spellers!
🏆 Champion: Chaitanya Gopi (5th grade, Dakota Montessori School)
🥈 Runner-Up: Sophia Lequin (6th grade, Cheney Middle School)

After a thrilling head-to-head spell-off with Adair Enz (6th grade, Ben Franklin Middle School), Sophia secured second place and a spot at State!

Both Chaitanya and Sophia will represent Cass County at the State Spelling Bee in Bismarck on March 17, 2025 at the Bismarck Event Center!
