Before daybreak I’m back in the studio for another excitingly creative day here at Blue Ridge Arts Center in beautiful Fancy Gap Va.
Don’t forget our dedication service on Wednesday Oct 21st at 5:00pm for our Fancy Gap Community Mural Project which just happens to be the largest barn quilt in VA!

Finished up this 24” barn quilt today. My client sent me a picture of an actual fabric quilt and I converted it to a painted barn quilt

Sorry, we decided to postpone our Artist Market until next Saturday the 17th. The good news is I’m going to try and extend the hours so you can get in more shopping time.

I've gotten a lot of great responses from my earlier post requesting original photographs that I can modify to use in the 2nd edition of my adult coloring book "Views from Fancy Gap VA"
I am specifically looking for an original photograph of Bluemont Presbyterian Church similar to this one by photographer G. Keith Hall
If anyone has one they could send me, I can send you a release form and give you photo credit in the published book.

Is there a plant that helps ward off stink bugs? Here's the answer I got from AI, bearing in mind that sometimes AI gives false information. LOL

photo for attention.
I'm not quite sure why so many of my great supporters are assuming the photo is of the completed mural. It's not. The photo is an AI generated version of what it will look like when we finish painting it. We still have a ways to go before we are through with the actual mural.

We still have a good selection of pumpkins and Halloween paint your own ceramics on hand but be aware that all of these will get packed up next week to make room for Christmas decor. Appointments are required and available 7 days a week. You can even request an invoice and pre-pay to guarantee I have the item you want on hand when you come in. Just dm me, call 276-733-1464 or email [email protected].

I might be just a little bias but this is one of my favorite views of Fancy Gap. I’d love to include yours in my next adult coloring book “Views from Fancy Gap” which is scheduled to be released mid November 2026.
