SFRYSC serves Pendleton County High School and Southern Elementary students and families.

Pendleton County School District offers a Family Resource/Youth Service Center in the north and south regions of the county . The purpose of the Family Resource / Youth Service Centers is to enhance students’ abilities to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnerships that promote:

--Early learning and successful transition into school;
--Academic and well-being; and
--Graduation

No one did more for Childhood Literacy than Dolly Parton. 🤍

As a FRYSC coordinator, I see every day how important it is to remove barriers for kids and families. Dolly didn’t just give children books — she gave them imagination, opportunity, a reason to dream, and the chance to have their very own little library at home.

She understood something so important: literacy starts long before a child walks into kindergarten. It starts in the lap of a parent, in a bedtime story, in turning the pages of a book and wondering what comes next.

What Dolly has done for childhood literacy is nothing short of extraordinary. ❤️📚

I’m so thankful that Kentucky children get to be part of her beautiful legacy — one book, one child, one dream at a time.

Thank you, Dolly, for helping us put books in the hands of children and hope in their hearts. 💕📖✨

❤️🖤 Cardinal Fest 2026 ❤️🖤

What a night. ❤️

I honestly don’t know how to put into words how thankful I am for everyone who helped make Cardinal Fest happen. Nights like this remind me just how special our school and our community really are.

To our staff, students and families — thank you for showing up, helping out, laughing, eating, playing, and just enjoying the night together. It takes so many people to make something like this happen, and I’m so grateful for every single one of you.

To all of our vendors, thank you for spending your evening with us and being part of our Cardinal family for the night. We appreciate you more than you know!

And our PCHS NJROTC… y’all deserve a HUGE shoutout! ❤️ You jumped in wherever you were needed and worked your tails off. Thank you for being willing to help and for representing our school so well. We couldn’t have done it without you!

There was a lot of work that went into tonight, but seeing our kids smiling, families having fun, and everyone just enjoying being together made every bit of it worth it.

I’m tired, my feet hurt, and I’m probably going to be unpacking my cart for the next three days 😂… but my heart is FULL.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who made Cardinal Fest 2026 one to remember. ❤️🖤

The LIHEAP Summer Subsidy Program will accept applications August 3 through September 11, 2026, to help eligible Kentucky households offset cooling costs with a one-time electric benefit. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted.

Interested households should contact their local NKCAC-Neighborhood Center to determine eligibility and complete the application process. To find the office serving your county, visit www.nkcac.org or call 859-581-6607

To qualify, households must meet eligibility requirements, including having a household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Benefits are paid directly to the household's electric provider.

Please note:

✅A disconnect notice, past-due bill, or eviction notice is not required to apply.

✅Receiving assistance during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility for this program.
