"When in Doubt, Please Stay Out." Potentially toxic cyanobacteria blooms have recently been detected in:

* Ashumet Pond, Falmouth/Mashpee
* Mashpee Pond, Mashpee
* Wakeby Pond, Mashpee/Sandwich

Avoid contact, particularly incidental ingestion of pond water that can occur during swimming. CHILDREN AND DOGS ARE ESPECIALLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO CYANOTOXINS THROUGH INGESTION. The town has been notified of the findings. If you have any questions, contact the local health department.

Our final Tidal Trekkers meets at 10:00 on Tuesday August 25th, rain or shine! This week’s theme is “Migration”

Our osprey and other birds will be starting to head south. How do they know where to go? We will tackle that question and a migration obstacle course. We will make a flying shorebird to take home. (Activities may change due to weather. )

Best for ages 3-7, siblings welcome. Free! No registration, just drop into the Visitor’s Center at 10am. Meets RAIN or SHINE!

Meets at 10:00 on Tuesday, rain or shine! The theme for our final week is “Migration”

Our osprey and other birds will be starting to head south. How do they know where to go? We will tackle that question and a migration obstacle course. We will make a flying shorebird to take home.

Reminder: We will NOT be meeting for Creative Movement on the Green today 8/20 however you can still get outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of summer! Walk barefoot in the grass, look for lichen on branches and insects under fallen logs in your yard or at the park... feel the textures, listen to the sounds and enjoy the sunshine!

📖 Looking for something more structured? The Mashpee Public Library opens at 9:00 AM today. The main branch of the Falmouith Public Library opens at 10:00.

Our saltmarsh is an important place for wildlife. We will explore the edge of our salt marsh and look for special animals and plants. We will finish our time with shell painting and printing.

Join us on Wednesdays at 10:00 AM for a craft on the porch at Highfield Hall

This week’s story, “Very Good Hats” is the first picture book by bestselling novelist Emma Straub , illustrated by Blance Gómez This joyous and inventive read-aloud will inspire kids to see ordinary objects in a whole new way. Some people think hats are fancy things you buy at a store, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. In this book, acorns and raspberries are snug hats for your fingers, and an empty pudding cup is a good hat for a stuffed bear. Readers will be delighted to discover that hats are everywhere you look!

This week’s theme is “Camouflaging Critters!" Families will join Waquoit Bay park rangers as they explore the different way that our estuary and upland animals camouflage and make a cottontail craft to take home.
