Dear Region One Families, Staff, and Community Members:
As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we are providing our annual notification of policies and legally required information for students, families, staff, and community members.
The Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) identifies a number of state and federal requirements that school districts must communicate annually. These notifications help ensure that families and staff are aware of their rights, responsibilities, and the policies that govern our schools.

Nondiscrimination and Civil Rights
Region One is committed to providing an educational environment free from discrimination and harassment. Information regarding nondiscrimination, Title IX, Section 504, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and related grievance procedures is available to students, families, employees, and applicants.
The Region also provides required contact information for the individuals responsible for addressing complaints under these laws.

Free and reduced-price meal information and meal charging procedures

Military recruiter access and the opportunity to opt out of the release of directory information
Student survey and privacy protections
As part of our ongoing policy review and revision process, we will continue to update our policy manual to reflect changes in Connecticut and federal law and best practices in public education.
