Spring has sprung for the Justice HS Class of 2026! The school is abuzz for the Seniors, who graduate in just two months.
This year’s graduating class is the largest in decades, and more than 200 have applied for scholarships. There’s never been a more important time to support the Justice HS Scholarship Fund!
Would you please donate now to raise scholarships for the Class of 2026? Your gift will quickly make an impact, as donations received by month-end (April 30) will support the college journeys of new Justice HS graduates this Fall.
And to amplify the effect of your generosity, the Scholarship Fund Board will provide a "double-match" for donations received this month (up to $5,000), thus tripling the impact of your donation.

Justice High School Graduation is only 100 days away for the largest Senior Class in more than 50 years – 550! The Justice High School Scholarship Fund is an all-volunteer group of parents, neighbors, school faculty, and alums who raise funds each year to award need-based scholarships to graduating seniors, helping launch their college journeys. Our streamlined organization has no payroll expenses so 100% of all donations are awarded to students.
Would you help support this critical mission? Would you consider making an "Extra Credit" donation of $250, or an “Honor Roll” donation of $500? www.jhsscholars.org/contribute
These students are as impressive as they are inspiring: 99% of last year’s scholarship recipients took classes in the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) program, and 81% receive federal Pell grants (for low-income families). Please see our website for more about the resilient students at our school and their accomplishments, and how they give back to the community and serve others.
Please be generous. This is a critical time for graduates from our school who are committed to higher education, as they face escalating costs and limited aid. Your support will make a difference!

He also represented Justice High School at a regional science fair, placing second in the microbiology category with his team. On the community service front, Ahmad volunteered at a food bank, tutored reading, and helped kids with English literacy. His high school counselor noted he embodies resilience and kindness, inspires others around him, and is a remarkable student and even more extraordinary individual. https://www.jhsscholars.org/recipients

Recognizing an ongoing need in our community, the Justice High School Scholarship Fund launched “Finish Line” Awards to support past scholarship recipients entering their junior years of college. Recent scholarship recipients typically use all their awards in the first two years of college, and those committed to completing their degrees face increasing financial obstacles to finish and graduate. In response to this need, JHSSF launched a pilot round of supplemental funding, and last summer awarded an additional $40,000 to 14 graduates from the JHS Class of 2023 to continue their studies and achieve their goal of a college degree. The awards were so successful, JHSSF plans to continue supporting students throughout their college journey. To learn more, see https://www.jhsscholars.org/single-post/finish-line.

Recognizing an ongoing need in our community, the Justice High School Scholarship Fund (JHSSF) is launching new “Finish Line” Awards to support past scholarship recipients entering their junior years of college.
In light of escalating costs, recent scholarship recipients typically use all their awards in the first two years of college, and those committed to completing their degrees face increasing financial obstacles to finish and graduate. In response to this need, JHSSF launched a pilot round of supplemental funding, and just last week awarded an additional $40,000 to 14 graduates from the JHS Class of 2023 to continue their studies and achieve their goal of a college degree.
Over the last 20 years, JHSSF has awarded more than 1,100 need-based scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $12,000 to graduating high school seniors to fill the unmet need that remains between the college’s financial aid packages and what families can realistically provide. For more information about the all-volunteer JHSSF organization or the resilient students it supports, please see https://www.jhsscholars.org/ or email [email protected].

We were able to catch up with some of our past scholars. Their stories amaze us. Sara is a dentist, a profession that combines her love for science and art while fulfilling her passion to help people. A 2009 Justice High School (then Stuart) graduate, Sara went on to graduate from GMU with Honors in Biology in three years. There she did research at Cox Lab and was a member of the GMU Recognized Student Organizations (RSO) leadership team. She studied Dentistry at Boston University. Sarah was awarded a National Health Services Corps (NHSC) scholarship and upon graduation worked in public health for five years providing dental care to underserved communities in Washington, D.C. She is now a practicing dentist in NOVA. Sara actively volunteers at a mobile clinic at Alhijrah, a local religious community center and as a Cub Scout den leader.

We are honored to share the stories of our scholars. Fernando is the 2024 recipient of the Jeremy Munga scholarship, created to honor the memory of a former student whose energy and passion touched many. Energy and passion are the hallmarks of Fernando’s whirlwind years at Justice HS. He is a standout athlete in soccer, playing all four years and serving as varsity co-captain. Fernando served as vice president of Star Club, a political advocacy and social justice organization. In addition, he worked on the yearbook and volunteered for Morning Star at the Woodrow Wilson Library, where volunteers help children on Saturday morning with homework, literacy skills, and educational activities. He also joined a church youth group and volunteered with HACAN (Hispanics Against Child Abuse and Neglect). Somehow he found time to work part-time as well—at the same restaurant his mother did as a way to spend time with her. Fernando wants to study psychology because he wants to understand the factors that shape people's decisions and behaviors. Fernando is attending Juniata College.
