家長們！你們知道在美國大學入學不外乎有以下七種方式，Regular Admission, Rolling Admission, Open Admission, Early Admission, Early Action, Early Evaluation及Deferred Admission。 最為大家所熟悉的就是RD、 EA、 及ED。 其中EA又包括Single Choice Early Action. 有四所大學只適合用於此種方式，哈佛大學，耶魯大學、普林斯頓大學及史丹佛大學。此種方式就是申請人申請了以上四所大學，就不可以再申請其他私立大學，但是可以申請其他公立大學。

另外ED又分成ED1以及ED2, 這二者的區別是ED1申請截止日期是11月1日，12月15日知道結果。ED2是1月1日申請，2月15日知道結果。如果想要增加自己的率取機會，就可以考慮提早申請。而EA及ED最主要的區別是，前者學生被錄取可以考慮不去報到，但是後者是和大學釐定的合同，只要被錄取了，申請人就必須去就讀，除非有重大及特殊的因素，要不然兄弟姊妹會被影響到日後的大學申請。由2021及2022提早申請的結果顯示，UC不再以SAT為入學評估考量，所以相形之下，AP課程、考試及課外活動的比重就會加大。雖然近二年因為疫情之故，許多學生受到影響沒有辦法做有影響力的課外活動或是夏校，但是仍然有一些學生可以做到出彩的課外活動。

萬聖節馬上要到了。北維中文學校將於週日(11/3)舉行扮裝遊行。請各位同學家長準備好，踴躍參加！遊行時，需要八至十位家長也打扮起來幫忙發糖。有興趣者請回此電子郵件 [email protected]。

請每家庭捐獻糖果禮物，特別是健康食物。鉛筆、貼紙、小玩具等都可以，只要不要太小，以免不小心被吞了。若有萬聖節的袋子桶子可借用，也請帶來。



PTA ANNOUNCEMENT: NVCS will hold a Halloween parade for students to display their costumes on Sunday Nov. 3. Students and Parents, please wear your costumes. We need 8-10 adults to volunteer to hand out treats, preferably in costume. If you would like to be part of this fun event, please respond to this mail.

Families are asked to donate candies and treats. Healthy treats are encouraged. Treats can also include small toys or useful items, such as fun pencils, stickers, etc., as long as they are large enough not to be accidentally swallowed by young children. If you have Halloween bags or buckets, large or small, that can be used, please bring them to Room D-121 on Sunday, Nov. 3rd before 2:30 pm.

There will be No classes on
3/25 and 4/1 in celebration of 2018 spring break.
