Metaphor International School

On March 19, our students took part in the Kangaroo USA — an international mathematics competition that has become a valued tradition in our school.

Each year, around 50 of our students register and participate, showing not only strong academic skills but also initiative and a genuine interest in learning. Throughout the year, our math teachers provide continuous guidance and support, helping students develop problem-solving skills and confidence when tackling challenging tasks.

Thanks to this dedication and teamwork, our students have consistently achieved outstanding results and earned top placements in previous years.

We are now looking forward to this year’s results, which will be announced in early May. Until then, we are cheering for our students and remain incredibly proud of their commitment and enthusiasm.

Because in competitions like this, it’s not only about winning — it’s about the courage to try, to grow, and to keep challenging yourself.

Our students prepared thoughtful projects and presentations about their heritage, proudly sharing the countries their families come from. Families brought national dishes to share, turning the day into a true cultural journey.

The festival was filled with music, dancing, games, bracelet making, outdoor fun, and friendly competitions — a day full of laughter, connection, and discovery.

This year, we proudly hosted our 4th Annual Science Fair — and it truly amazed us with both its scale and the depth of our students’ research 🔬✨

From biology and chemistry to physics, engineering, earth science, and environmental studies, the variety of projects was remarkable. Each one reflected not only knowledge, but also curiosity, creativity, and genuine dedication.

The number of projects — and the level of work behind them — was incredibly impressive. Our students continue to raise the bar every single year.

Selected projects were presented this past weekend at the Greater Northern Virginia Science and Engineering Fair (NVSEF) 2026 at George Mason University, where our students were recognized among their peers at the regional level. We couldn’t be prouder of their achievements and the confidence with which they represented our school.
