Have you heard the German term “lüften”? The rough translation is to “ventilate” or “airing out.” On social media, it’s being referred to as “house burping,” and it means to open your windows a little every day to eliminate stale air. It’s also become a trendy topic these past few months (just ask Popular Mechanics), and whenever IAQ is in the national conversation, TABB-certified professionals have opportunities. It’s a conversation starter and an opportunity to educate customers, especially if they’re familiar with the posts. Need ideas on how to take this popular trend and make it work for you? Call your NEMI representative today and we can help.

It’s Not Just Clean Air — It’s Proof of Clean Air 02/26/2026

How important is indoor air quality to the under-40 crowd? Almost half of millennial and Gen-Z workers say they’d consider quitting a job over poor workplace IAQ. Whether it’s a new appreciation for clean, germ-free air after living through a pandemic, or simply shifting sensitivities and awareness, younger workers are twice as concerned about IAQ as their older counterparts. Read more in this recent story at The ACHR NEWS, then speak with your NEMI representative on how to meet the demand.

It’s Not Just Clean Air — It’s Proof of Clean Air Half of Gen Z respondents and 44% of Millennials said poor air quality at work would be grounds for quitting their job.

NEMI was proud to stand alongside sponsor, Delegate May Nivar for Virginia, and those who testified in support of the state’s HB1345 — a follow-up bill that strengthens the four-year IAQ testing requirements established under HB2618/SB 1413, signed into law last year. Strong IAQ policy depends on measurable standards and qualified professionals to verify performance. We're grateful for the collaboration between lawmakers and industry experts to help ensure Virginia’s schools are safer and healthier for students and staff.
