APS and AEA Reach Successor Agreement Increasing Compensation, Benefits and Supports for Support Personnel
APS and the Arlington Education Association (AEA) have reached a new collective bargaining agreement for support personnel that will take effect at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
The agreement includes a 2.8% cost-of-living increase, higher APS contributions toward employee health care premiums, expanded personal and bereavement leave, and enhanced employee support provisions.
It is the first successor agreement negotiated since APS certified its initial support personnel contract in 2024.
APS and AEA leaders said the agreement reflects a shared commitment to supporting employees and maintaining a strong workforce dedicated to student success.
The Arlington School Board recognized the bargaining teams and participated in a ceremonial signing during its June 18 meeting.
