Hey Eagles-- FroYo-r information, the Glen Forest PTO has our very first fundraiser of the year TODAY, and we hope to see you at Sweet Frog after school! Please mention Glen Forest when checking out, and the PTO will receive a portion of all proceeds. We use this money, along with membership dues and other fundraisers, to support our staff and students by
🚌 alleviating transportation costs for field trips
🤗 Showing the hardworking GFES staff appreciation during teacher appreciation week and throughout the year
✏️📑 supporting teacher needs for classroom projects
🏃hosting two Fun Runs, Bingo Night.... and more!

Welcome back, Eagles! We have almost a full first week of school under our wing (get it?😉). Our board members have been busy planning for a GREAT year ahead- so stay tuned for a calendar of events for the coming year. Until then, please make plans to join us on FRIDAY AUGUST 28th for a picnic! Bring your own dinner and blanket or chairs. Say hi to old friends and teachers, and meet some new ones. Play some games. and My Crepes Truck will be at school if you'd like to purchase a snack or treat. We can't wait to see you there!

¡Bienvenidos de nuevo, Eagles! Ya tenemos casi una semana completa de clases bajo nuestras alas (¿lo captan? 😉). Los miembros de nuestra junta directiva han estado ocupados planeando un año fantástico; así que estén atentos al calendario de eventos para el próximo año. Mientras tanto, ¡les invitamos a acompañarnos el VIERNES 28 DE AGOSTO a un picnic! Traigan su propia cena y una manta o sillas. Saluden a viejos amigos y maestros, y conozcan a otros nuevos. ¡Diviértanse con algunos juegos! y My Crepes Truck estarán en la escuela por si desean comprar algún bocadillo o algo rico. ¡Estamos deseando verlos allí!

Did you know that all students are eligible for FREE lunch this summer? Jorge from will be in front of the school EVERY weekday (except July 3) weekday from 12-1pm until August 21! Today the menu includes a breaded chicken wrap, an apple, broccoli, and milk. Come on down and grab a fresh meal, and enjoy some time in the shade with your friends.

It's tonight! Our tables and chairs have been delivered (finally!😌) and we've got loads of prizes and fun things to raffle.
Food trucks will be ready to serve at 5:15pm:
🛻My Crepes: Sweet and savory Crepes and tasty drinks like boba tea
🛻Two Smooth Dudes: wraps, salads, and gourmet tater tots 🥔
🛻 Samasem Steak: burgers, fries, wraps, kebabs!

You can purchase a bingo card for $1 each and a raffle ticket for $2. Credit cards $5 minimum please, or bring cash!

BINGO: 6:30-7:30pm.
RAFFLES: 7:30-8pm (must be present to win!)

We can't wait to see you tonight!!!

The last chance to sign up for Spring After-School Clubs is today (they begin on Thursday)! Please register and secure your spot with online payment at www.ptaglenforest.org. There are still spots available for

•Crafty Crew
•Chess, and...
•🆕this year: "Not a Book Club". Your local librarians will host this brand-new club for kindergarteners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders to have fun exploring books with games and activities.

We can't wait for Thursday!

Volunteers needed! If you are able to read a story to your child's (or another) class on Friday March 6, the students and teachers would love to have you visit! The wonderful Glen Forest literacy coaches are hosting "Reading Takes You Everywhere" next week. Please sign up on the link in comments to volunteer! You may bring a favorite story to share, or choose one at school.
