In addition, and for situational awareness, as of recent, the Nevada Sheriff's and Chief's Association mandated that both NEW and RENEWAL permit holders take the 50 question written test.

What a day!
Had a renewal class scheduled this morning and as I was heading into town, WAY ahead of schedule, I got paged put to a structure fire. Thankfully, I was able to shoot a quick text to one of the students and ask them to give me a little time, which they were more than gracious!

I appreciate all of your patience while I was nearly 40 minutes late for my own class!

That being said, let me know if you would like to get your CCW, or if you're within a year of expiring!

I try my best to ignore main stream news networks because, in my opinion, they're all untrustworthy. However, being in the business of what I do, I feel obligated to review trends, patterns, statistics and help my students better understand things when it comes to personal protection. And this one really bothers me:
An illegal immigrant, fry me if you hate my terminology but I don't care, who entered the United States in February of 2023, has been arrested for the killing of a mother of 5 children, in Maryland. The investigation has been linked the murderer to a home invasion that had taken place in Los Angeles, in the last year, as well as to a murder in El Salvador, the killer's native country, through DNA.
Here's the issue, the DHS has some sort of record that knows this pile of trash had entered the country in February of 2023. Our current elected officials have handcuffed the DHS so much that now 5 children are without a mother, and this is far from the first or last case. Not to mention that if he was in fact involved in the home invasion.....
With that said, Maryland is roughly 1,800 miles from the US/Mexico border, and although more crime from illegals is closer to the border, geography provides no boundaries.
Here's a little more to chew on, the killer is a 23 year old kid, who obviously is not seeking any sort of asylum, but came here with obviously ill intentions.
Unfortunately, I feel like we're barely shaving the skin off the bad things that we, as a country, will be faced with in the coming decades.

As CCW classes have been ramping up (winter season and election years have proven to be the busy times) and classes are more frequent, the conversations about deterring threats are more common. So, I've decided to start posting weekly safety tips to keep you and your loved ones safe.

So here we go!

Weekly safety tip: Everyone, for the most part, enjoys the easy communication that social media provides. When on vacations, a simple post and a few photos reach a large number of people. Most of those people are friends that enjoy the views and activities that are shared.
What it also does, is sends the message that "we're not home right now". This could be an invitation to unwanted visitors to your residence while you're away, who may have I'll intentions.
How do we mitigate it and share posts? Save the posts for when you're home. Or, be creative.
