The Lindsay Clancy case is going to be landmark for so many reasons, no matter the outcome. Every woman can relate to this case, whether they think she's guilty or not guilty, whether they blame the system, her doctors, her husband, or all of the above.
I will keep saying this over and over: for the majority of women here in the US, the village is dead. There are no elders, no accountability, and no Daddy is coming to save us, care for us, or support us emotionally, spiritually, or financially with our reproductive health, motherhood, postpartum, or perimenopause. The burden of responsibility is all on us and the support system we fund and create. And, I'm not even touching on the challenges of shepherding souls into adulthood with self awareness and relational mastery while trying to heal your own traumas.
For that, I will view motherhood as a death-defying act that is now, only for the privileged.
